IIT BOMBAY IS the 2nd RANKING ENGINEERING INSTITUTE IN INDIA
IIT Bombay began in 1957 and the first batch of 100 students was admitted in 1958.IIT Bombay was established in the year 1958 by an Act of Parliament at Powai in Mumbai. The foundation ideas and ideals of the institute evolve and change with national perspectives, national aspirations, and worldwide trends. Over the last few decades, the institute has undergone dynamic progress in academic as well as research activities, along with improvement in infrastructure and facilities, in order to compete with the world’s best institutions. This institute has available facilities for research, higher education and training in different fields of Science and Technology.
IIT Bombay Infrastructure:
The institute has various engineering departments including Chemical, Aerospace, Civil, Earth Sciences, Chemical, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical, Energy Science, and many more. Centre for Research in Nanotechnology and Science, Computer Science, Computer Aided Design Center, Centre for Formal Design & Verification of Software, and Centre of Studies in Resources Engineering are some of the learning centers in IITB. The institute also has schools for special studies, which are: Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, School of Biosciences & Bioengineering, and Kanwal Rekhi School of Information Technology.
